Whether it’s hosting online pub quizzes or arranging isolated open mic nights, there are millions of people trying to make the most of this awful situation. Mother’s Day 2020 was actually buoyed by a sense of innovation as thousands of families connected online.
However, while we’re all busy connecting online, it’s understandable that we all miss the experience of physical contact as time wears on - from a fist bump to the joy of hugging our friends and even the simple act of shaking someone’s hand. These are all things we now realise we’ve been taking for granted. How much we’ll miss these simple things makes it all the more apparent how special it is to just be together, and how much we will value the opportunity to do so once the dust settles on the coronavirus pandemic - and that day will come.
